What is Brainspotting?

"Where you look affects how you feel"

Brainspotting is a groundbreaking new discovery that offers people lasting relief from stress, anxiety, depression, Insomnia, trauma, OCD, Sports performance blocks, and more. Unlike traditional talk therapy, Brainspotting utilizes fixed eye positions, known as "brainspots," to naturally allow the brain to heal.

Brainspotting is effective for all ages and has a growing research base. It boasts a reputation for rapid healing and is increasingly requested as a therapy treatment. The technique's effectiveness is attributed to its ability to target areas of the brain that traditional talk therapy may not reach.

What Happens in a Brainspotting Session?

During a brainspotting session, your therapist will typically provide you with headphones that play specialized music known as Biolateral sounds. Although not mandatory, these sounds facilitate communication between the brain's hemispheres, promoting deeper and more lasting effects within the session.

The session begins with a discussion of the areas in your life that are challenging or those you wish to improve. Together with your therapist, you will identify a fixed eye position (brainspot) associated with those specific areas.

Once the eye position is located, you will be encouraged to focus on the pointer for as long as desired, and you may close your eyes or divert your gaze at any time as needed. Unlike traditional therapy, verbal interaction with your therapist during a brainspotting session is not required after establishing the eye position, as the healing process occurs internally within your brain and body. Nevertheless, your therapist will remain present throughout the session, offering support as needed. At the conclusion, you and your therapist will discuss the experiences and processes you encountered during the session.
